How is Center founded and how does it function?

After 6 years being a member of Special Forces, Center is founded by Željko Rendulić.

 

I was working on security of VIP people and important facilities, and was one of the founders of Center for Military police dog training "Cobra" where I was also working as an Instructor of handlers and dog training.

 

During the war in Croatia, I was actively using dogs for different purposes, and all practical experience from that period I apply on our work in Center. Before the war and work in military police, my work with dogs was based on sport work and breeding. Center is divided in several segments: breeding, civil dog education, work under the sport program, and dog training for the purposes of our Center.


What do you do? What breeds do you use?

Our way of work for the purposes of our Center is not presented for public. We use techniques and methods which are also used by elite forces of military and police in the world, where we implement our practical experience and knowledge gained during many years of working with dogs and the breeding.

 

Dogs that are used for purposes of our Center, we specially choose and test, train them for patrol needs, protection and bodyguard of people and facilities, and detection of explosives and drugs. Breeds that we use are: German, Belgium, Dutch Shepherds and crosses of those shepherds; Rottweilers, Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, German Wirehaired and Shorthaired Pointers, Hungarian Vizslas and Weimaraners.We do not exclude dogs that are not thoroughbred, if they can satisfy our needs and testing.


What is your core business?

Our goal is to breed working dogs for the purposes of our Center. Usually we sell "green dogs", single or dual purpose, to different Police and Military Forces over the globe. Due to specifics of the breeding and working with such dogs, and because of big global demand for such dogs, we gather increasing team of associates, who are involved in the process.


How do people become an Associate?

Associates are divided in breeding and working sector.

 

For breeding sector, we offer breeding females into the families. Those females are selected in the Center, for Center's breeding purposes. We mate them with our own males, and we buy-out puppies.

 

For working sector, we are looking for young people, not necessary experienced in working with dogs, because we offer education for our purposes in the Center.


What are the other activities of the Center?

We offer dog pansion, dog and handler training courses, individual dog and handler training lessons, and we prepare dogs for breeding examination.

 

 

 

 

 

 


How many handlers and dogs can you take for a course?

All dog handlers who applicate for our course are going through testing with their dogs, related to their needs. Through the testing, our instructors get a certain image about the dog, and the handler as well. After testing, we decide if the dog remain for training in the Center, or the handler brings the dog for training, or we go to the handler's place for training the dog. In above cases our capacity is not limited.

 

Regarding the dog training for official purposes, such as (body) guarding, detection, seminars and other, our capacity is limited for taking 4 handlers and their dogs. In this case, the Center is able to offer full accomodation to handlers and their dogs. We plan to expand our capacity in the near future.
